Body Weight Exercises Are The Fastest Way To Lose Weight

One of the biggest and fastest growing problems today is obesity. Recent government studies indicate that at least sixty percent of adults are either overweight or obese. And that number is expected to only go up. If you are heavily overweight, or would simply like to lose a few pounds, this article is for you.

When you cut through all the nonsense propagated on the Internet and on TV, there are really only two ways to effectively and permanently lose weight. By modifying the food that you eat, and increasing your physical activity. Of course, not all diets are the same, and not all exercise programs are them. In this article I’ll be focusing on simple exercises that will increase your metabolism and make it easy for you to lose weight.

Exercise falls into two categories. Strength building, and endurance building. Endurance building exercises like running, cycling, and walking are commonly thought to be the best exercises for losing weight. While they burn the most while you are doing the actual exercise, they don’t do much for your resting metabolism.

Strength exercises are the best for increasing our resting metabolism, and therefore have a greater effect on your long term weight loss efforts. Strength exercises are anything that leaves you out of breath after a minute or so.

Now if you are worried about getting huge and bulky muscles like the incredible hulk, think again. If you do lighter weights, and more repetitions, this won’t happen. Body weight exercises are likely the best exercises you can do if your goal is to lose weight and get in the best shape possible. Push ups, sit ups, running or walking quickly up flights of stairs will do wonders for you physique.

Of course, many people like to mix in some endurance exercises once in a while. But you don’t have to spend hours on the treadmill every week to get spectacular results. All you need is you, your body, and some floor space, and your good to go. Once you start doing five or ten minutes every day, you’ll be amazed how quickly you’ll see results.
