Do new golf clubs neeed to be broken in?
I just bought the 2006 model of the Callway Big bertha irons and used them today. I couldnt hit any of them for crap and they felt a lot different then at the store. Is it normal for them to need to be broken in?
No, golf clubs are NOT like a car; they don't need to be broken in.
Rather you do……the golfer needs to get used to them.
As to whether or not clubs felt different from in store, two possibilities. First, did you get exactly same models with same shafts? If not, different shafts make a BIG difference in feel. Also, at a store, you are hitting them into a net; not out on a course where you can see ball flight. for some reason, I never think the clubs feel quite the same hitting them inside, off a mat, v outside off grass.
Are you sure that you purchased the Calloways with the same shaft flex, lie angle etc as the demonstrators? Golf clubs need no breaking in. The golfer using them is the one requiring break in. instead of going to the course, get to the practice range and hit many shots with each club. If there is no improvement you have the wrong clubs for your swing.
You have to swing it a lot before you get used to it.
No. You need to get adjusted to the clubs, give it time and you will find them fitting you very well
