How do you start a new golf league?
first you need a golf course. then you need flyers. then you need ground rules.
the league at my homecourse has 12 teams with 8 players on each team. only 4 play per week(the rest are reserves) matchplay format and a win is 1 point and a tie is 1/2.
handicapping will be key though. i like the system that adjust every week. also once the match is over you must use the ncga handicap system to fill in the rest of your score card(to prevent after match sandbagging) for example if i am a 1 handicap for league(9 hole handicap) then i double making me a 2 for 18 holes. any handicapped holes that are above my handicap i must take a par. anything below i would have to take a bogey. this really does prevent sandbagging.
but ya u need to get the word out and maybe have a cash prizes at the end of league.
