How to fix my golf swing and shot?
Hey, I am having a real problem with my swing and shots. my shots get a meter high in the air, if that and they just roll along the ground I also make big divots before and after where the golf ball was. what is causing this and how does one fix it?
Golf is a sport enjoyed by many, but perfected by few. one of the great things about golf is that, on any given day, on any given hole, an amateur can play like a professional.
While the success of a great game of golf can be exhilarating and gratifying, a consistently high score can bring about an equal but opposite amount of frustration. And, typically, the root of all a golfer’s problems comes down to one thing: the swing.
There are a lot of elements to a perfect swing, and to achieve it, practice makes perfect. The key of the perfect swing is to execute it unconsciously. that is, without thinking about it. first you must identify your mistakes, and then you must laboriously work to correct them. then, with enough time and practice, you’ll find that you’ll be able to pull off your meticulously practiced swing without having to think about all the little particulars.
While achieving the perfect swing is far more complicated than just a few easy steps, there are some simple tips that will help any golfer’s game.
If you are taking big divots, a lot of the time that is caused when you are trying to swing to hard and through your body at the ball. You need to make sure that once you address the ball you need to make sure that you do not stand up any straighter through your swing cuz this will cause you to blade the ball and hit that low burner and make sure you dont dip that front shoulder that will cause you to dig a grave under the ball. well i hope this helps! Hit em straight!
Hey Eddy, sounds like you are trying to lift the ball as you hit it. Try this drill: Put a pillow or a big headcover about two feet in front of the ball. As you begin to hit balls, try to hit the ball clean and hit it LOW! Try to hit the ball into the pillow, yes try to hit it low. Most golfers who fail to get the ball airborne are trying to hit up on it as the swing thru it. As you try to hit lower shots, the ball will hit the face of the club and deflect up into the air with backspin. Make sure to shift your weight to your forward foot when hitting balls. The massive divot comes from trying to hit the ball with your weight on your back foot as you try to hit it.
Cheers,

Eddy, could it be that you are moving your head too fast before actually hitting the ball? that and striking the ground to far away from the ball will make big divots. The club face angle will take care of heights but your swing must be consistent and selecting golf club numbers for the distance is important to get the most out of the hit.

make sure your divots are in front of the ball not behind. most problems with divots in front or behind the ball is your body height. you may be trying to slam down on the ball which would obviously cause the divot behind the ball, and if you look up its a hopper. i always think of sitting down and turn into my swing and thru staying the same level and not sway, keep your right leg firm(bend a little).
