Check into your state/local USGA sections. Out here in CA there are free lessons for members covering a ton of different aspects of the game (IE, one day is wedges, another is putting, another might be irons and still others are for Driver, sand, etc.) VERY COOL

One of the first things that I would do would be to buy and read Harvey Penick's Books. the are very informative and you will learn something about golf, but more important you will learn golf courtesy. Lots of courses have clinics that are fairly inexpensive but you are in a class with several people, but you should get enough knowledge of the basics to practice and master to keep you busy for a lifetime.

I live in Georgia and I'm looking for inexpensive golf lessons for beginners. Anyone know of any?
