Golfers – A Way of Life

We are a unique breed of person; we’re obsessive; we’re passionate; we are golfers. Golfers are dissimilar than other sportspeople because we frequently take the sport way more seriously than we really should. but we just don’t care. Golfers are devoted to the game of golf and we will never apologize for that.

Golfers consistently examine the weather conditions and if the heat is over 50 degrees, we tend to wonder what form the course is in. We have The Weather Channel website at the top of our favorites list and refer it every day. The ten day forecast is our buddie as we plan out our golfing days determined by the weather.

We carry the label of golfers with pleasure and it is reflected in our outfits, our vehicles, and the things we utilize to decorate our desks. Golfers would like the world to be aware of that they are devoted to golf and they are surely not ashamed to acknowledge it and put it out there for all to appreciate.

The Golf Channel is a crucial part of TV for all golfers. If our cable box doesn’t include The Golf Channel, we tend to switch cable carriers. If they charge for The Golf Channel, we gladly shell out no matter what fee they request without doubts.

How does this golf cart work?

I went golfing and the golf carts they let us drive are very interesting. I think they are gas powered but the engine does not stay running.

Somehow when you hit the gas pedal the engine goes and when you let off the engine stops.

How does this work? I dont understand how it can go on and off like this.

The crazy thing about it is it goes instantly when you hit the gas there is no delay to wait for it to start.

Anybody know?

None of the engines on gas carts run continuously. They all start when you depress the gas pedal and stop when you take your foot off the gas pedal. It's more fuel efficient and all engine noise is eliminated when you're trying to hit a golf shot.

I want to start golfing. I'm just going to buy a full set to start out, and as I get more into golf buy seperate clubs, basically upgrade, buy a new driver… etc. What is a good full set to start out with? I was thinking top-flite or Adams. My budget is $350. Post some links.

Apparently Bush or Jackson's golfing buddy was giving the contract. Now they are either indicted or on the verge of being indicted.

There have been so many of them so though I was unaware of it nothing surprises me anymore with the current administration.

Why are we still talking about Hurricane Katrina??? are those people still not on their feet yet? The first settlers to this country built towns faster than those parasites in Louisiana. I mean come on, we've found out what those people are like down there. They've made a life of mooching off the taxpayers, and ever since they've been dispersed to places where people took them in lovingly, they raised the crime rate in each of those cities. They're parasites, and their mayor is prejudice and gets a free pass. New topic.

A lot less than the taxpayer cost rhat would have been incurrred if BHO had spent his time screwing up America further rather than golfing, vacationing, campaigning and announcing how ashamed he is of America.

Conservatives certainly are the cheapest group of people that I've met — maybe communists at heart. Shouldn't Barry be using public transit like others people do.

Carnoustie-Angus, The Town Famous For Golf

The seaside town of Carnoustie – Angus, located by the side of the North Sea, approximately 42 miles from City of Edinburgh and about 10 miles from the City of Dundee. it sits on the border of two parishes, Panbridge and Barry. there are two streams that run through the town, the Barry Burn on the West side of town and the Craig mill burn on the East side.

With a population of around 10,000, makes it the fourth largest of the towns in the region of Angus. during the 18th and 19th centuries most of the employment came from textiles or agriculture. Today it is known as being a seaside and golfing town.

Running along the side of the town, is the Dundee to Arbroath railway line which opened in 1838. The railway encouraged industrial growth in the area and was the main reason the vitriol factory opened. The products were used in fertiliser used by agriculturists.

The towns name is thought to be of Gaelic origins, although there does not appear to be a Gaelic equivalent for the name. Some people believe that the name comes from the Scottish Craws Nestie, which relates to number of crows that populate the area.

Remains show there has been a population since the New Stone Age period, which can be evidenced by the monuments that can be found around the town. although there are also remains in around dating back to Bronze age, Medieval and Pictish periods.

Famous for golf, the game has been played in the area since the 16th century. there are three picturesque golf courses in the area, one of which is well known for hosting international championships. there is also a rugby club, which plays for a league that the Scottish Rugby Union operates. there is also a junior football team.

I need help picking out a golf simulator?

I am moving up north and my golfing season will be greatly decreased. I am going to get a golf simulator and am looking for which one is best at a reasonable price. Right now im looking at the p3proswing which is around 1200 and the optishot which is 400. what are yalls opinions on these/other simulators. Which one should i get? im wanting to get legitimate feedback as i want to use this as a training aid and not merely something to go have fun with.

ultimately i care about accurate readings and convenience. T

Probably p3proswing. I have optishot and when it comes to woods and irons, it is very consistent. But when it comes to putting and chipping, it is incredibly off. so if you do buy optishot, there is always an option of not putting. I would not recommend it though.

optishot has many many good reviews, very accurate.

What protects our feet and gives it support in return are the shoes that we wear. thus golfing that involves a lot of walking and the player needs to be on his feet for the entire duration of the play, it is very important that you wear the right kind of shoes. Wrong shoes may end up hurting your spinal cord very badly.

Just as different sports have their footwear like tennis shoes, soccer shoes, running shoes, golf too has golf shoes. all professional players wear golf shoes. Do you need a golf shoe? Let’s first see what is special about golf shoes that set these apart from other sports shoes.

o the most important part of golf shoes are the walking surfaces – the spikes. Although traditionally they used metal spikes, these days rubber spikes are used so that the playing surface is not damaged and at the same time the player gets a good grip on the undulated surfaces. the traction in golf shoes is what that sets its apart from a sneaker.

o since as a golfer you will be on your feet most of the time, golf shoes are supposed to be rigid. These shoes give you a strong support and a good base for your swing shots. you do want to stay on your feet and not on your back at the end of your swing!

o If you are considering playing golf in long terms and do spend at least a day on the field in a week, it is advisable that you go for a golf shoe. the more you are careful about your gait, your support and your feet, the longer will be your golfing career. Slipping on a muddy area and injuring yourself just because you were wearing the wrong shoes will not be very wise!

o on the other hand if you are happy with your athletic shoe, stick to that as long as it gives you a good tread and strong support to your ankle. the tire pattern for tread is often considered to be good.

If however you plan to buy golf shoes look for the following:

o allow spaces for your toes to wiggle when you wear the shoes. o High-quality spikes that can be replaced. o Ensure that your toes are not getting pinched nor the back of your shoe is riding up.

So next time that you are out there teeing or golfing, do keep an eye on the shoes you are tying up – the shoes should give you support, grip and comfort.
